5C ACADEMY The 5C MethodOUR FOUNDATION

Five stages. One way to think.

The 5C Method is a structured learning framework. The five stages work together to transform understanding into informed decisions.

From understanding to action

A framework that connects the stages.

The five stages form a connected process: understanding gives structure to learning, mental templates support thinking, and analysis leads to a practical decision.

  1. Comprehension

Understand the position, identify relevant information and recognise the essential elements of a situation.

  2. Conceptualisation

Organise understanding into concepts, relationships and patterns.

  3. Creation

Build mental templates that organise knowledge and can be reused in future situations.

  4. Calculation

Use these templates to analyse possibilities, compare alternatives and anticipate consequences.

  5. Conversion

Transform analysis into a practical choice or action, adapting what has been learned to the situation at hand.

A dedicated reference

The method is formalised in a dedicated 60-page handbook.

Learning builds the templates. Thinking puts them to work. Decision-making applies them in practice.

The handbook is referenced here; a public download is not currently available.
